My Story

I was born and raised in Texas. I have lived on the gulf coast my entire life. I have traveled, married, traveled some more, had babies, burned a lot of meals, have had more than my weight of junk mail delivered to my home, and dabbled in just about everything there is. My hobbies could be best classified as ADHD. Never sticking with one thing. Why so? Life is too short to only know how to crochet a single chain stitch.

I have lived my whole adult life with Lyme, but was not diagnosed until the year 2011. In and out many doctors offices, a few ER trips, enough blood work to satisfy all of Transylvania, test after test. Was told it was several different possibilities ranging from Lupus to MS to even speculation of a brain tumor. I had a total hysterectomy at 32 and had a partial thyroidectomy performed in 2013. Along with having Lyme comes the damage that it does to the body. Arthritis, reflux, neuropathy, blurred vision (cannot be corrected by lasik), weight gain, weight loss, under active thyroid, low hormones, Reynaud's, muscle deterioration, tendon and ligament deterioration, convulsions, co-infections, Bartonella, and due to what Lyme does to the cognitive skills I'm certain I'm forgetting other things.

Treatment doesn't come easy. No way about it. Finding a doctor that treats it, then paying for that doctor, then paying for the meds and other treatments involved. It will be an uphill battle on the downside of progression.

I created this blog so that you can journey with me on my "adventure". Living with Lyme is just a way of life for me. Whether you are here to try and understand or you yourself are affected by the disease, I hope that you enjoy my writings.
